The Tulare Irrigation District and the City of Tulare acquired 150 acres of plum orchards in a joint project to develop recharge basins along Tulare Irrigation District´s main canal. The project consisted of the design of a new three-cell groundwater recharge/regulation basin. Project tasks also included grading plans, CEQA compliance documentation, topographic, ALTA surveying to better define the project area, and construction staking. In addition, control structure designs were prepared for the district. Provost & Pritchard assisted Tulare Irrigation District in the preparation of three successful grant applications (two submitted to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and one submitted to the California Department of Water Resources) that partially funded this project.
